In 2009 Alive Luxury Retreats was born in Australia. Combining unforgettable luxury escapes with holistic wellness programs, Alive became the first holistic wellness retreat of it's kind in the world. With sold out retreats in Australia Alive expanded to Bali.

Alive hit Bali's shores in 2013. Seeing the wanderlust of the island and the unique travel experiences it offered, Alive was one of the first operators in Bali putting Bali on the map as a wellness and luxury travel destination. Wowing clients with unforgettable experiences and 5 star reviews in Bali's top 5 star venues led to a chance visit to South Africa right before Covid hit for the founders. The founder Heidi discovered South Africa by accident and a love affair began.

It was love at first sight for founder Heidi with no expectations or any knowledge of South Africa before visiting. Immediately falling in love with SA she extended her visit for 3 weeks more to explore a new leg of Alive in South Africa. Joining forces with co founder Jenn who is South African born and bred led to the birth of Alive Luxe South African Experiences. Jenn brings a lengthy high end client and event management background to the table along with her local knowledge and connections that ensured the standard of excellence in South Africa for Alive would be delivered.

The owners of Alive Luxe experienced a profound love for South Africa during their inaugural visit, where the stunning beaches of Cape Town welcomed them with their breathtaking beauty.
As they explored the country over 3 years creating their experiences, they were enchanted not only by the picturesque landscapes but also by the vibrant culture, delectable food, and the warmth of the people they encountered.
Each moment was an adventure, filled with rich experiences that showcased the diverse nature of the region and the endless list of wellness, travel and adventure experiences.
Yet, it was the safari experience that truly stole their hearts, immersing them in the wild beauty of South Africa's wildlife.
Founder Heidi described it like this:
"I've facilitated more than 500 retreats teaching people every tool there is for health and happiness. No tool or experience I have ever delivered came even close to my first Safari experience. Time stopped. Stress that would normally take weeks to resolve disappeared in hours. As I rode horse back next to giraffes the tears fell; tears of pure joy and gratitude. Mindfulness that would normally take hours of meditation to capture a glimpse of presence is naturally experienced in every moment like watching a movie in slow motion. Observing animals in the wild is like watching life in action, where everything is in perfect order and you develop a sense of trust in something greater than yourself that you could never quite tap into before. You are all of a sudden reminded of the smallness of your issues and the grandness and beauty of life. A sense of inner peace and stillness overwhelms you, your creativity returns along with a real sense of universal understanding of life and your new found purpose. I believe that everyone should experience this once in their life."
This captivating journey inspired them to vow to return, driven by a desire to share the breathtaking discoveries and unique experiences of this extraordinary land with the world. and so Alive Luxe was born.
